Lifetime enhancement routing algorithm for mobile ad hoc networks

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are formed by mobile nodes without the support of fixed infrastructure. In the MANET, each node performs as a host as well as host to forward the data packets. The nodes are adjustable based on the local environments. MANETs are used in many situations where temporary network connection is needed. In this paper, investigates the problem of lifetime enhancement of mobile nodes in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Here, the MANETs are used in temporary network connections. The MANETs are formed by mobile nodes without the support of fixed infrastructure. Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) Routing Protocol is used. The model has been simulated using MATLAB. AODV routing protocol is a reactive routing protocol which enables multi-hop routing between participating mobile nodes in an ad-hoc network. AODV increases the packet delivery ratio with increase in power and decrease in number of hops. KeywordsAODV, Reactive Routing Protocol, Routing Protocols, True time, Wireless Ad-Hoc Network.
